Pengalaman di dunia Arsitektur selama 30 tahun diawali dengan memulai kariernya sebagai Arsitek di PT. Armekon Reka Tantra dari tahun 1987 hingga 1990, dilanjutkan di PT. PAI dari tahun 1990-1996. Masih di PT. PAI, jenjang kariernya meningkat menjadi Associate Director pada tahun 1996-2003. Irianto memulai studio arsitektur bernama Antara pada tahun 2001, dan memimpinnya hingga sekarang. Pengalaman di dunia Arsitektur selama 30 tahun diawali dengan memulai kariernya sebagai Arsitek di PT. Armekon Reka Tantra dari tahun 1987 hingga 1990, dilanjutkan di PT. PAI dari tahun 1990-1996. Masih di PT. PAI, jenjang kariernya meningkat menjadi Associate Director pada tahun 1996-2003. Irianto memulai studio arsitektur bernama Antara pada tahun 2001, dan memimpinnya hingga sekarang. Rancangan-rancangan Irianto mendapatkan beberapa penghargaan sayembara, yaitu Pemenang Utama Bank Exim Kemayoran pada tahun 1991, Pemenang Kedua Ford Foundation Headquarters pada tahun 1992, Pemenang Utama Best Exhibition Stand – Ritz Apartment Stand pada tahun 1993, Pemenang Ketiga Puri Metropolitan Sport Club pada tahun 1995, dan Pemenang Utama Perumahan Bank Indonesia di Jalan Panglima Polim Jakarta pada tahun aktif dalam kegiatan akademik dan organisasi. Pengalamannya dalam kegiatan akademik antara lain adalah menjadi Pengajar pada mata kuliah Studio Perancangan Arsitektur semester 4 di Universitas Borobudur pada tahun 1987 dan Asisten Dosen pada mata kuliah Studio Perancangan Arsitektur semester 3, 4 dan 7 di Universitas Indonesia sejak tahun 1988 hingga 1992. Pengalamannya dalam berorganisasi adalah sebagai Pendiri dan Penggiat Arsitek Muda Indonesia sejak tahun 1989 dan di Ikatan Arsitek Indonesia - cabang Jakarta sebagai Wakil Ketua pada tahun 2000-2003, dilanjutkan menjadi Penasihat pada tahun sudah banyak menerima apresiasi dalam berbagai pameran. Pameran yang pernah diikuti Irianto adalah Arsitektur Prospektif pada tahun 1990 di Jakarta, Arus Silang Arsitektur pada tahun 1993 di Jakarta, Arsitektur dan Seni pada tahun 1995 di Jakarta, Young Indonesia Architects pada tahun 1999 di The Hague, Tension, 100 Years of Architectural Perspective in Indonesia pada tahun 2007 di Jakarta, Arsitektur 4D pada tahun 2008 di Jakarta, Jakarta Architecture Triennale pada tahun 2009 di Jakarta, Idonesian Architects for the International Union of Architects Congress pada tahun 2011 di Tokyo, Bazaar Art Jakarta & Casa by Bravacasa pada tahun 2013 di Jakarta dan yang terakhir adalah Pameran Arsitektur “Segar” pada tahun 2015 di Jakarta. Karya-karyanya telah dipublikasikan di berbagai media cetak dan elektronik sejak tahun 1990.
